JOB SUMMARY

Leads the design, implementation, administration and legislative compliance of company-wide compensation strategies, policies and processes for one or more employee groups such as executives, professionals, production or administrative. Continuously assesses market practices, trends, and regulatory environments related to compensation program design and delivery, and integrates these elements into the company’s programs as appropriate.

Partners with business and human resources leadership to develop compensation strategies to meet business objectives; ensures that strategies, policies, processes and reporting practices comply with corporate governance practices and legislative requirements.

Coaches and partners with line human resources to deliver compensation programs aligned with business needs; facilitates the alignment of country and entity-specific compensation programs with the organization’s business and people strategies, objectives, and competitive targeted market position.

Leads the development of tools and processes to deliver and administer global compensation programs; monitors effectiveness and compliance with global policies and standards.

Ensures development and delivery of compensation program communications; ensures delivery of compensation training across the human resources function globally.

Manages internal and external vendors including contract management and analysis of performance metrics.

Ensures the accuracy and completeness of compensation strategies, policies and process documentation.

Establishes and manages the operating plan for the compensation strategies; plans for technology investments.

Develops and monitors key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of compensation strategies, programs, policies and their application; monitors compliance with corporate governance requirements.

Leads initiatives focused on achieving performance excellence in compensation design and delivery.

Coaches and mentors one or two levels of direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

Qualifications

Skills

Facilitation - Guides group discussions or training by creating an active environment where questions are posed, perspectives are shared, and debates occur with the goal of gaining understanding, analyzing issues, resolving conflict, exploring solutions, or making decisions.

Change Management - Applies the Cummins structured process and tool set for engaging individuals and organizations through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes.

Labor Relations - Practices employee relations at sites where employees are represented by third parties; applies knowledge of labor law; negotiates, interprets and implements the language of collectively bargained agreements.

Compensation and Benefits Administration - Translates Cummins plan design, statutory and tax requirements in the communication and delivery of compensation and benefit programs.

Compensation Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.

Benefits Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.

Experience

Significant experience required, including leadership and budgetary experience.
